Comparing the Genesis GV70 to the Genesis GV80 in Savannah, GA

As the Genesis brand continues to grow, it has recently expanded into the luxury SUV market with the release of its latest crossovers, the GV70 and GV80. Both of these stylish crossovers blend exquisite design harmoniously with incredible performance. Both come standard with a wise selection of features that you might have to pay extra for with even many luxury brands. However, many may ask: What's the difference between the GV70 and GV80? There are numerous key differences, so let us discuss them with you here at Genesis of Savannah.

You will find our dealership here on Abercorn St in Savannah, GA and less than a half-hour outside of Richmond Hills.

G70 vs G80: Interior

A key difference between the Genesis GV70 and Genesis GV80 are their seating configurations and available space. The GV80 is a midsize SUV with a larger wheelbase and a spacious five-seat interior. However, the GV80 can also be enjoyed as a seven-seat SUV when Pooler shoppers upgrade to the available 3.5T V6 trim. The Genesis GV70 is modeled after the G70 sedan before it, so this SUV remains in the compact crossover category. As such, the GV70 seats five with ample seating for five passengers, even for a compact SUV.

The inside of these sedans are quite comparable, but the right one for you all depends on your tastes in interior design. The GV70 offers a unique oval-shaped instrument panel, with easy access to climate and sound controls, as well as a larger 14-inch HD touchscreen. The GV80 also offers quick and seamless access to all the most important controls, but in a boxier design that is just as striking. Both of these crossovers feature a 3D LCD multi-information display, giving you all the most pertinent info on your performance right at your line of sight.

GV70 vs GV80: Exterior

As two of the newest additions to the Genesis lineup, both of these crossovers feature similar exterior designs, complete with the same grille and new quad-lamp headlights and taillights. While it might be easy to describe the GV70 as a smaller version of the GV80 before it, you will notice some more subtle differences in the designs of these SUVs. For one, the GV70 has a lower roofline by about two inches, giving it a sportier look over the more luxury-oriented design of the GV80. The Genesis GV70 comes standard with 22-inch sport alloy wheels which are available on the GV80 and give these SUVs enhanced performance and off-roading capabilities.

GV70 vs G80: Performance

Performance is one area where the GV80 and GV70 seem to be equally matched. If you're looking for something that really allows you to enjoy your daily drive through Rincon, you really cannot go wrong with either of these crossovers. Their base trims come standard with a 300-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates a whopping 300-horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. Available on both SUVs is a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, generating 375-horsepower and 391 pound-feet.

As the GV70 is more compact, it will have more adaptability on tighter city streets and on off-road trails. However, both SUVs feature high ground clearance and available intelligent all-wheel-drive, so they can be adaptable choices on many different terrains.

Which will You Choose?

As both are Genesis models, both are more affordably priced than other luxury SUVs and both start out at a price lower than $40,000. The right one of these SUVs for you depends entirely on your preferences in design and how much interior space you need in your daily travels. When you decide which is right for your needs, you can test drive the new Genesis GV70 or GV80 SUV here at Genesis of Savannah. Hinesville customers will find our dealership less than an hour outside of their hometown. We hope to see you soon!
